Printing Tips
01
Print at A4 full page — the larger the marker, the greater the detection range. A4 works well at 20–70 cm.
02
Use matte paper, not glossy. Glare from glossy paper confuses the camera and reduces tracking reliability.
03
Laminate the printed marker for field use — it protects against moisture and keeps the surface flat.
04
Ensure the black border is fully visible and not cropped. The border is essential for AR.js to detect the marker orientation.
05
For display boards or posters, print at A3 for detection at up to 1.5 m distance.
Hiro Marker — Standard AR.js Fallback
Hiro Marker — AR.js Default Pattern
The Hiro marker is the default AR.js tracking pattern. Use this as a fallback if the custom Compass Rose marker is not available. It is widely recognised and highly reliable. Print at A4 on matte paper.
Pattern Type AR.js Preset (hiro)
Detection Range 20–80 cm
